Hello and Welcome to Janet Lyn Quilts and Things in Akron, Ohio.
I offer an assortment of homemade quilted and knitted items
including quilts of all kinds, table toppers and runners, wall
hangings totes, knitted items and felted bags, to name a few. Any day spent quilting is a good day.
My passion for making quilts began 40 years ago when a
neighbor helped me sew my first quilt, a grandmother's fan.
Over the years, with a growing family and busy nursing
career, quilting became a wonderful way to "refill my tank"
at the end of a long day.
My favorite quilted projects to sew
are kids quilts, table toppers, wall hangings and anything to
do with snowmen. I especially enjoy creating custom items,
such as photo, signature and t-shirt quilts. What a perfect
way to make memories.
Knitting is what I do in my favorite Lazy Boy chair while
watching the Cleveland Cavaliers. What could be more
relaxing? I enjoy making designer scarves, baby blankets
and felted purses. And when the Cavs win, it's all good!
Now I'm retired from nursing and spend a great deal of time at our local community center and library
teaching kids and interested adults to quilt. It's so much fun to see the excitement a completed quilt
brings to someone who never has sewn before.
